Special Police
The Webster Special Police were formed in 1997 pursuant to §158 of Town Law. Such temporary or special police have the powers and authority conferred upon constables under the laws of the State of New York.
All Special Police members are volunteers. They work traffic and crowd control at various functions in the Town and Village, and routinely serve as attendants in Webster Town Court. When needed, they are also called upon to assist paid law enforcement personnel in times of emergencies or disasters.
Applications to join the Special Police are available through the Webster Police Department.
